PG Made completes record-fast ERP implementation

PG Made moved from heavy, unsynchronised Excel files to Seegra ERP in record time. The entire process took one month, and the system itself was launched in a single working day.

Today the company has real time visibility into its ongoing projects. When employees register materials and working hours in the mobile app, the information flows automatically to payroll and invoicing.

PG Made provides welding, engineering and 3D design services

The bright flame of a welding torch immediately draws attention when we step into PG Made’s production hall in Bosund, Larsmo. Here the company manufactures custom products for the marine industry, primarily in aluminium, a material the team specialises in.

Right now the team is working on a 16 x 6 metre taxi cabin that will be delivered to Kewatec. Several projects are running at the same time, and the pace is high. There is a lot to keep track of, especially for a subcontractor known for its reliable deliveries.

“Our customers trust us to deliver on time. That is critical for them to meet their own deadlines. With Seegra ERP it is easy to manage the business, and it is a big advantage that both of our business units can operate in the same ERP system since we move staff between them.”

Robin Ahlskog,
CEO, PG Made

PG Made offers services in welding, engineering and 3D design. Most of their work consists of custom projects, but in spring 2025 the company also began serial production of aluminium frames for boat cabins for Saxdor.

The company shares its facilities with ProGo Robotics, a sister company that develops robotics and automation solutions. Their work ranges from welding robots for the metal industry to picking robots used in the food industry.

Excel based operations eventually became unsustainable

Brothers Robin and Benjamin Ahlskog ran the engineering firm RB Team until 2022, when they became part owners of PG Made. At that time the company managed its operations through well structured Excel files, but as the business grew the situation gradually became unsustainable.

– The Excel files worked during the first six months, but after that the amount of data became too large to handle and the synchronisation started failing. On one screen it could say that the information was up to date, but when we opened the same file on another computer the numbers didn’t match. That simply wasn’t workable, says Benjamin Ahlskog, partner at PG Made with the title Engineer, Naval Design, who was responsible for the practical work involved in the transition to Seegra ERP.

Smooth production planning and simple time tracking were at the top of the wish list when PG Made started looking for an ERP system. The company discussed their needs with several suppliers before choosing Seegra ERP.

– We started from how we want to work and listed what we need from an ERP system to make that possible. We realised that Seegra ERP was the system that could most easily adapt to our workflows, and that was decisive for us, says Robin Ahlskog.

Green shows the planning phase and red indicates production. Darker shades mean that the stage is completed. It’s hard to imagine a clearer overview. On the screen to the right you can see the resource planning view, where different colours represent different customers.

A system tailored to the company’s workflows

PG Made began working with Seegra just before Christmas 2024. Seegra’s implementation specialist Frank Enqvist asked Robin and Benjamin a series of questions to understand how their business operates and to configure the system according to their needs.

PG Made needed four core modules: project and production planning, project tracking, invoicing and payroll, and Seegra Mobile, where employees can register material usage and working hours.

Once the requirements were clear, it took just over two weeks for Frank to configure the ERP system the way PG Made wanted it.

Before the transition to Seegra ERP, Seegra’s implementation specialist Frank Enqvist held a walkthrough with Benjamin Ahlskog where he showed how each process works in the system. If Benjamin later had questions, they arranged a video meeting where Frank could demonstrate and explain things directly in the system.

– I walked Benjamin through how each process works in the system. We went through everything from sales and purchasing to how a new project is created, how resource planning is done and how recorded information flows through to payroll and invoicing, says Frank.

Because PG Made already had clear and well structured data, the implementation phase went very smoothly.

– On January 7, 2025, the company’s compiled data was transferred into Seegra ERP. The very next day we were already working in our new ERP system. The actual switch took just one day, says Benjamin Ahlskog.

For a smaller company with well defined processes, the transition to Seegra ERP can sometimes be completed in about a month. In most cases, however, implementation takes two to three months.

No process mapping needed before the transition

Frank Enqvist and Seegra’s CEO Jonas Grankulla have worked with production systems and ERP implementations for many years. When they enter a new company and begin reviewing its workflows, they quickly see what needs to be done.

– In larger companies we usually start with a process review where we go through workflows, analyse how information moves through the organisation and create process maps to see how Seegra ERP can best support the business. In the case of PG Made that wasn’t necessary, because the owners already had a very clear understanding of how their operations work, says Frank Enqvist.

Jonas Grankulla notes that PG Made is a rewarding customer to work with, largely thanks to their positive attitude toward ERP systems.

– Robin and Benjamin are driven and solution oriented entrepreneurs with the right mindset. They understand the importance of a well functioning ERP system and want to get the most out of Seegra ERP, says Jonas Grankulla.

With Seegra on your mobile, it’s easy to check project details, allocate resources and register information, whether you are in the workshop or out in the field.

Fast and reliable customer support

After their first quarter using Seegra ERP, Robin and Benjamin Ahlskog are very satisfied, both with the system and the customer support.

– We really appreciate getting fast customer support in Swedish. When we ask a question, we are often invited to a video meeting the same day where they show us exactly which parameters to adjust, says Robin Ahlskog.

They also point out that the system has many strong features, some of which they only discovered after they started using Seegra ERP.

– One feature I really like is that I can split a project into sub plans to quickly see what stage the project is in. That makes it easy to check whether we are staying on schedule, says Benjamin Ahlskog.

– It is also very valuable that employees register material usage and working hours directly in the mobile app. That means the information in the system is always up to date and it saves a lot of time when processing payroll and invoicing, says Robin Ahlskog.
